We took the lead on 5 minutes when John Emmett won the ball and played in Lee Walsh who fired home. With 20 minutes played, Chris Porter ran through and had a shot from 20 yards out which hit the post. Five minutes later Chris Burton burst into the box and was brought down, John Emmett scored from the spot to double our lead. John Emmet then picked up the ball following some great work from Chris Burton and his shot went over the bar.

In a typical end of season game they hit the post mid-way through the second half, the ball bouncing back into Matt Cook’s hands in our goal. We then added a third when Chris Porter played in Lee Walsh who made no mistake firing the ball into the corner of the net. With 15 minutes remaining they pulled a goal back, quickly followed by a second to set up a nervous finish but we held on to secure all three points and do the ‘double’ over Mill Hill. In a very good second half of the season we finished well, only losing 2 of the 13 league games played in 2012, and those 2 defeats being by the odd goal. Well done to all the lads for a spirited comeback after a disappointing first half of the season.
